About The Position

H-E-B's Transportation Division supports distribution by transporting products from the warehouse to our retail stores. Our Transportation Partners ship an average 12,000 deliveries per week and travel over 73 million miles each year. As a Non-CDL Delivery Trainer, you'll facilitate classroom training, conduct hands-on training, and provide on the job coaching and performance feedback for Non-CDL Delivery Drivers. You'll help ensure Partners successfully complete curriculum and are ready to begin driving / delivering. Requirements

Minimum age 21 (mandatory)
Valid Class C Texas driver's license (CDL not required)
Excellent driving record
No moving violations or preventable accidents in the past 3 (three) years
No DWI, DUI, or related convictions
No felony convictions
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to identify and coach behaviors in the moment
Ability to present in front of groups
Ability to meet H-E-B and regulatory driving record requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to constantly demonstrate a strong work ethic, a sense of urgency, high ethical standards, and a competitive spirit
Ability to travel out of town and stay overnight
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Experience driving a company vehicle (preferred)
Experience leading / coaching / teaching others (preferred)

Responsibilities

Participates in training orientations; reviews existing training programs; facilitates training curriculum
Documents Driver Trainee performance: review results with leadership; communicates need for corrective action
Works with various leadership teams across the network to evaluate training effectiveness and implement required adjustments
Coordinates / administers classroom and on-the-job training sessions
Reliably trains on different types of vehicles (e.g., minivans, box trucks, 26- straight trucks)
Conducts training in new and current locations state-wide
Consistently provides training results and feedback to various leadership teams across the network
Uses new and existing training materials (e.g., workbooks, manuals, visual aids, practical exercises, examinations, hands-on skills presentations) as prescribed by Safety department
Works with Transportation Safety leadership to identify new training locations, facilities, routes and related potential call outs, hazards, and best practices
Maintains professional and technical knowledge; attends educational and refresher training sessions (e.g., Safety meetings, BPM meetings, and professional and industry publications)
Oversees Driver Trainee training; releases Driver Trainee only after successful completion of all required levels of certification and training in compliance with H-E-B Transportation Safety Training curriculum
Conducts recertification or retraining with Drivers in compliance with Transportation Safety
Load / unload delivery vehicles
Regularly lift up to 55 lbs
Work in varying weather and traffic conditions
Pass background screening and Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check (at time of entry and on a periodic basis)
Maintain current driver qualification file and comply with all H-E-B and government driver requirements
Maintain a performance record free of 40 ratings in all categories
Travel out of town and stay overnight
