About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Nocturnist - Hospitalist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx. North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds and is a community hospital dedicated to serving the health needs of all New Yorkers. Opportunity Details: Full-Time position in a group of 3 with scheduling flexibility. Primary responsibility for the care and management of patients admitted to the General Medicine Service, but remaining in the emergency department awaiting a bed, with consultation provided by specialists as necessary. Provides Attending oversight to the medicine service supervising trainees and responding to clinical changes and emergencies. Spends 100% of time in clinical activities, including supervision of residents and clinical projects.

Requirements

  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Prior Hospitalist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care and management of patients admitted to the General Medicine Service, but remaining in the emergency department awaiting a bed, with consultation provided by specialists as necessary.
  • Provides Attending oversight to the medicine service supervising trainees and responding to clinical changes and emergencies.
  • Spends 100% of time in clinical activities, including supervision of residents and clinical projects.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $241,000 (board eligible); $246,000 (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $360,620 (board eligible) and $366,120 (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
