Requirements

  • Master's Degree (Required)
  • AANP - American Association of Nurse Practitioners - American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board
  • APRN - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License - State of Ohio Board of Nursing
  • NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants - American Association of Physician Assistants
  • PA - Physician Assistant - National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants

Responsibilities

  • Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice.
  • Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
  • The duties and responsibilities for the APP working in Hospital Medicine include but not are limited to obtaining and performing medical history and physical exams, recording and interpreting data (ex. Labs, diagnostic studies, progress notes, etc., formulating and implementing treatment plans, maintaining communication with patient and families regarding medical care, collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team, actively participating in multidisciplinary rounds where needed, and performing other related job duties as required.
