Plan and conduct all work activities with safety as their priority. Observe and be knowledgeable of all safety regulations and procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment. Air arching and air slice. Torch operations: track torch, scarfing, and straight tip. Preheat and post heat. Crack repair and basic buildup. Welding and fabrication. Dual shield welding 1/16 and 3/32. Teardown and rebuild hard iron parts. Weld parts using positioners. Weld buildup parts for machining with no slag inclusions. Read and use all types of measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers). Read and understand blueprints. Grinding preparation for weld. Keep personal area clean and dump garbage. Keep scrap metals picked up. Follow safety protocol. Maintain equipment in good working order. Shop Welders may go to the field to help on a project. This may require working in the elements of weather, heights and confined spaces. Other welding jobs as needed or required.
