About The Position

Position Summary: The successful Security Officer is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, shipmates, guests and all visitors near and onboard vessels. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform security patrols Enforce safety and security procedures Protect property from theft, sabotage, fire and accidents Assist with accident/incident investigations Assist with investigation of suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations Provide assistance to customers, shipmates, and visitors following the department's procedures Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures
• Security and/or law enforcement experience
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
• Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for an extended period of time
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency and safety-sensitive situations
