About The Position

The successful Security Officer is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, shipmates, guests and all visitors near and onboard vessels.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures
• Security and/or law enforcement experience
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
• Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for an extended period of time
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency and safety-sensitive situations

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols
• Enforce safety and security procedures
• Protect property from theft, sabotage, fire and accidents
• Assist with accident/incident investigations
• Assist with investigation of suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations
• Provide assistance to customers, shipmates, and visitors following the department's procedures
• Other duties as assigned by management
