About The Position

Are you empathetic, patient, and committed to empowering adolescents on their journey towards sustainable mental wellness? Embark at Benton is seeking a Night Watch Coach/Behavioral Health Associate to mentor young males (ages 12 - 17) in a residential treatment program!. Given the needs of our program, we strongly encourage male applicants to apply to serve as positive role models for the young men in our care, however we welcome applications from all qualified candidates and are committed to building a diverse team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will help create a structured, supportive environment where adolescents can heal and develop essential life skills. This role can be physical in nature so we encourage candidates who feel comfortable with these demands to apply. Located near the Hiwassee River and Tennessee mountains, our therapeutic wilderness setting provides the perfect backdrop for transformation. Our home-like residential program fosters healing for both clients and staff, offering an opportunity to make a lasting impact while growing personally and professionally.

Requirements

  • Age: 21+ years of age or older
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required.
  • Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
  • Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
  • Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in accordance with Tennessee state laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe boundaries with students and staff, using verbal de‑escalation or physical intervention as needed, while conducting assigned bed checks to ensure students are safe and in their designated beds.
  • Serve as a positive role model by fostering a supportive environment, encouraging ADLs and coping skills, and assisting students who are ill or experiencing difficulty.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads and Shift Supervisors to uphold student schedules, ensure safety, support campus operations, and complete all assigned duties with punctuality and dependability.
  • Support classroom activities, campus events, and recreation therapy while actively engaging with students and performing light cleaning and laundry duties.
  • Communicate observations and updates to the Program Director clearly and promptly, including required nightly documentation.
  • Document client progress notes at the end of each shift to track progress and maintain continuity of care.
  • Respond to feedback positively while promoting a safe, empathetic, and well‑maintained environment for students.
