Provides a customer service atmosphere at the entrances of a University Residence Hall while controlling access to residents and authorized faculty and staff to provide appropriate building safety and security. Must have detailed knowledge of emergency procedures such as fire safety evacuation, bomb threats, medical emergencies/resources and by assisting other staff in responding to crisis situations and engaging in preventative activities such as checking and verifying Ids, perimeter safety checks, and roving the buildings. Provides information and operational support for 2,200-2500 residents, 1-4 Graduate Assistants, and 15-30 Hourly Workers, university officials, university police concerning the utilization of residence hall programs, operational procedures for residence hall space/services. Coordinates night operations and access to an area of residence halls on the Downtown or Evansdale campus. Enforces policies, rules, regulations, and other community standards. Must have daily face to face and telephone contact with residents, Residence Life Staff, Resident Assistants, and Residence Hall Coordinators. Must possess computer skills, speak, read and write English. Assists in resolution of problems on behalf of and providing for the needs of students. Must possess ability to train, and coordinate schedules for undergraduate and graduate student employees. Must have supervisory experience of para-professional staff members.
