Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Night Crisis Worker to provide program, case management, and crisis intervention services during the overnight for individuals and various shelter activities. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Required.
  • Three years experience in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis telephone calls, in person crisis counseling sessions, shelter intakes, and departures.
  • Respond to the needs of shelter clients.
  • Care for and supervise children in shelter.
  • Assist in administration of medications to children in placement, as assigned.
  • Transport clients as necessary.
  • Complete necessary forms and documentation.
  • Make appropriate referrals and coordinate services with other service providers.
  • Complete required annual training.
  • Maintain required certifications and proficiencies.
  • Attend assigned meetings.
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks for the facility.
  • Complete maintenance chores as assigned.
  • Prepare and serve breakfast, as needed.
  • Perform laundry tasks.
  • Assist with training needs of new employees.
  • Ensure safety standards and infection control policies are followed.
