About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service with a touch of outrageous hospitality. This overnight position involves reconciling accounts, processing and delivering required reports timely, and maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere throughout the night.

Requirements

  • Prior hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred
  • Enjoy working in a guest service oriented environment
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Self-starter, must show initiative, including anticipating guest and operational needs
  • Have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Opera or similar PMS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests upon arrival, checking them in and providing them with any information they need to enjoy their stay.
  • Responding in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services.
  • Answering the telephone and e-mails in a timely & professional manner. (Calls must be answered by the third ring.)
  • Coordinating solutions quickly when guests experience problems in their room and ensure items are shared for follow-up with proper departments.
  • Performing hotel accounting functions as directed including reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions.
  • Communicating with Management team and department heads on any defficiencies or issues found for the day.
  • Keeping the hotel lobby area inviting and clean by vacuuming, dusting, setting up welcome supplies and other various duties.
  • Learning the property systems and be able to navigate the system quickly and efficiently including following Emergency Procedures and running necessary reports and distributing accordingly.
  • Monitoring property security and respond to overnight guest needs.
  • Helping set up breakfast area and ensure morning readiness.
  • Completing and distributing required audit processes and reports.
  • Serving as Manager-on-Duty for overnight shift. (Contacts hotel leadership when operational matters require additional insight and authority.)
  • Following and processing proper cash/check/credit card/AR control procedures always using proper guidelines and security.
  • Adjusting or correcting accounts as needed.
  • Maintaining responsibility and proper security over cash and deposits at all time.
  • Helping set up breakfast area and ensure morning readiness.
  • Performing all other task and assignments requested by manager.
