The Night Audit position is responsible for recording, processing, and analyzing the day's closing figures, completing all required reports, and ensuring that all credit transactions are in balance. This role also involves attending to guest needs, including registration, checkout, cashiering, and making wake-up calls. The Night Auditor acts as the Manager on Duty during night-time hours, greeting guests, handling payments, maintaining a house bank, cashing checks, exchanging currency, and managing guest bookings. Key responsibilities include performing daily audit procedures, completing various reports (Daily, Comp, Pace), balancing cash receipts, making deposits, and preparing the front office for the morning shift. The role also entails acting as a PBX operator, transmitting messages, ensuring timely wake-up calls, assisting in emergencies, posting charges, making reservations, reviewing arrival reports, and ensuring special requests are met. Additionally, the Night Auditor is expected to attend training and meetings, practice safe work habits, follow privacy and security protocols, and maintain extensive knowledge of the hotel and local attractions. Supportive functions include assisting with guest inquiries, adhering to company policies, reporting maintenance issues, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
