Description: Provides optimal nutrition care for inpatients and outpatients, utilizing the Nutrition Care Process, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The Nutrition Care Process includes nutritional assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, and nutrition monitoring and evaluation. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates nutrition education individualized to the patient/client needs. Precepts dietetics and other health professional students, participates in onboarding of new hires, and supports departmental continuing education. Provides support outside of patient facing responsibilities including but not limited to collaboration with supply chain, food services and speech therapy. Independently orders diets, supplements and tube feeding as approved by medical staff office at each facility. Master's Degree is required or Bachelor's Degree prior to 2024. Requires 3+ years of relevant experience with a Specialist Certification or 4+ years of relevant experience without a Specialty Certification. Experience in a like setting (acute care/ambulatory care) is preferred. Requires registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Licensure through the state of Indiana must be obtained within 6 months of start date. Any clinical area billing for service may require CDR approval and Indiana state RD license prior to start date. Requires the ability to demonstrate expertise in malnutrition assessment, NFPE, enteral nutrition support management, discharge planning and specialized diet education. Requires the ability to demonstrate competency in parenteral nutrition management.
