About The Position

The Director of the Regional Center, located in Charles City, Iowa, will serve as a dynamic leader responsible for advancing career and technical education across the region. This role involves strategic collaboration with North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) area secondary schools, local employers, and community organizations to deliver high-quality educational and workforce development programs. The Director role includes Healthcare Academy instructional responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum of five years of applicable administrative and/or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with students, businesses and career exploration initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently with good judgment in managing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to working cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication (listening, presenting, writing) skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage strategic meetings to support the Center's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with deans and Continuing Education to facilitate credit and non-credit course offerings, ensuring alignment with community and industry needs.
  • Collaborate with the Community Education Coordinator, manage NIACC Center building access, room rental/meeting/scheduling, and oversee student computer lab.
  • Analyze enrollment trends and provide reports to leadership for strategic planning.
  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of career and technical education programs between NIACC and area secondary schools.
  • Provide leadership in offering secondary-level programs and courses that articulate seamlessly with NIACC pathways.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract students to CTE programs.
  • Conduct presentations at high schools, career fairs, community events, and industry partner sites along with coordinating visits to the center and program tours.
  • Provide prospective students with information on CTE programs, admissions requirements, and career outcomes.
  • Track recruitment activities and maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions.
  • Connect students, educators, and employers through meaningful work-based learning experiences.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, local business and industry leaders, economic development organizations, and other stakeholders throughout the NIACC service region to support student career pathways.
  • Expand the Center's reach and relevance by fostering innovative educational solutions tailored to local workforce demands.
  • Serve as a liaison between NIACC and regional entities to promote career readiness and lifelong learning.
  • Teaching responsibilities will be included not to exceed equivalent of 9 hours per semester.
  • When teaching, must evaluate, record and report student achievement and progress in assigned courses in accordance with division and college policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
  • Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
