About The Position

The Project Manager - Aggregates plays a critical role in overseeing and driving the successful execution of mining and quarrying projects within the aggregates sector. This position is responsible for managing all phases of project development, from initial planning and permitting through to construction, production, and closure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, environmental, and finance to optimize resource allocation and project outcomes. The Project Manager will also engage with external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, contractors, and community representatives to maintain positive relationships and ensure project alignment with legal and social expectations. Ultimately, this position ensures that aggregate extraction projects contribute effectively to the company’s strategic goals while maintaining operational excellence and sustainability standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the mining, quarrying, or aggregates industry.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale mining or aggregate extraction projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of mining operations, environmental regulations, and safety standards applicable to aggregates extraction.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as MS Project or Primavera.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with permitting processes and regulatory compliance specific to the aggregates sector.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and budgeting for mining projects.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience working in multi-site or geographically dispersed project environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of aggregate mining and quarrying projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, environmental, and safety teams to develop project plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage procurement and contract administration for vendors, suppliers, and contractors involved in project activities.
  • Monitor project progress through regular reporting, site visits, and performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues and align project objectives.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, forecasts, and post-project evaluations to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and operational efficiency.
