About The Position

The NH Food Alliance Network Coordinator is a part-time role focused on building relationships, sparking collaboration, and supporting shared learning across New Hampshire’s food system. The position will join a small but mighty NH Food Alliance team that works closely to advance the New Hampshire Food and Agriculture Strategic Plan and support a strong, resilient food and farm community. NH Food Alliance is a statewide network, coordinated by the University of New Hampshire, that brings together businesses, organizations, and communities working to strengthen the local food system in the Granite State. The Network Coordinator will help to keep this network connected and energized—supporting both virtual and in-person gatherings, engaging partners across the state, and playing an active role in connecting UNH students with real-world food systems work.

Requirements

  • Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: Advanced degree or equivalent experience in relevant field preferred Minimum 5 years’ experience in related work or project coordination, preferably directly related to food systems
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with working in a network; knowledge of New Hampshire’s food system or local/regional food networks a plus Demonstrated interest in food systems, food access, agriculture, or related issues Experience supporting or coordinating events or community gatherings (virtual and/or in-person) Familiarity with meeting design and facilitation, or interest in developing facilitation skills Experience working with or engaging students, volunteers, or diverse stakeholder groups Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines in a part-time role Excellent communication skills, including clear, respectful written and verbal communication Ability to work collaboratively across organizations, sectors, and communities Comfort using common digital tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Workspace, event registration platforms, and shared project management tools

Responsibilities

  • Event planning and management (20%) Coordinate logistics for NH Food Alliance events, including the Network Café series, the annual NH Food System Statewide Gathering, and other convenings Manage event timelines, registration, programming, vendors, and on-the-day support Support post-event follow-up, documentation, and evaluation
  • Implementation Workgroup Facilitation and Support (50%) Provide coordination and facilitation support for select NH Food Alliance workgroups and collaborative projects Help maintain communication, organization, and momentum among workgroup members Support cross-network relationship-building and information sharing
  • Student and Faculty Engagement (20%) Engage and collaborate with UNH students interested in food systems change through events, workgroups, internships, or project-based learning opportunities Support student participation in NH Food Alliance activities and help create meaningful pathways for student leadership, learning, and contribution Coordinate with UNH partners as appropriate to strengthen connections between students and the broader food system network
  • Administrative Responsibilities (10%) Support NH Food Alliance Director with administrative responsibilities, such as processing stipends, honorariums, proposal and report writing when applicable
