The NextGen Database Administrator is responsible for managing the architecture and operations of a multi-practice, self-hosted NextGen Ambulatory Practice Management and Electronic Health Records system. Responsibilities include ensuring high availability of NextGen software and services, performing version upgrades, MS/SQL Server migrations, and optimizing database performance in high-concurrency environments. The role is also responsible for establishing and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) interfaces with Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), hospital systems, payer sources, regional practices, laboratories, and pharmacies. Additionally, the Database Administrator supports and maintains other organizational databases beyond the core EHR system.
