About The Position

A private family expecting a baby (due May 7) is seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist to provide professional, newborn-focused care beginning in late April. The initial phase will take place in Las Vegas for approximately 1-2 weeks just prior to the birth and after the birth (surrogacy arrangement). After that period, the role will transition with the family to New York City for 8-16 weeks. During the first phase, coverage may include extended hours depending on family needs. Once in New York City, care will likely shift to structured coverage (day and/or night shifts shared with another caregiver). This position is strictly newborn-focused and does not include general nanny or household management responsibilities.

  • At least 3 completed newborn placements from birth through 6+ weeks
  • Experience with overnight care and/or structured shift care
  • Current Infant CPR certification
  • Strong knowledge of safe sleep standards
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
  • Willing to be hired as a W-2 household employee or a 1099
  • Willing to travel to Las Vegas and return to New York City with the family (travel and lodging paid for by the employer)
  • Willing to complete background and reference checks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting surrogate births or hospital-based postpartum care
  • NCS (preferred), RN, LPN or postpartum certification (not required)
  • Experience in private homes requiring discretion
  • Ability to collaborate smoothly with another caregiver in a shared-shift structure

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate newborn care
