If you’re the kind of person who likes to learn by doing and see the impact of your work every day, you’ve found the right spot. We're looking for a New Truck Attendant to join our Gary dealership. This person will be responsible for receiving and checking in all inbound trucks and equipment. This role is on the 1st Shift, M-F 7:30AM-4PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
  • Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required.
  • Ability to operate both standard and automotive vehicles.
  • Ability to utilize a tablet and applicable programs in a professional environment.
  • Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Must be physically capable of performing required work.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of TransChicago locations or customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for checking in new vehicles.
  • Jump start trucks on the premises.
  • Assist with snow removal, outside building maintenance and organizing the lot.
  • Recording vehicle conditions, VINs & mileage.
  • Assisting the New Truck Preparation department with other duties as required​.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to management.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Operate a forklift as needed by the department.
  • Communicate, guide, and direct inbound transport drivers and overview of the undecking area.
  • Fuel trucks on site.
