As an integral member of the Marketing group in the Technology Development & Industry Engagement (TDIE) Department, the New Technology Marketing Manager works collaboratively with the department’s other groups; Technology Development, Regulatory, Quality, & Operations, and Business Development, to advance St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s science and innovation. The position’s work focuses primarily on assessing market opportunities, analyzing potential industry partners, and articulating value propositions of innovative technology that benefits St. Jude patients and furthers the Institution’s mission. The person in this position also partners with St. Jude researchers to optimize technology development, ensuring the final output meets or exceeds market expectations. In partnership with the department’s cross-functional team, the New Technology Marketing Manager is responsible to provide expertise and planning in the following areas: Customer Insight Development Identify and define market segments, value propositions, targeting and positioning, claims development, and user needs. Collect and analyze essential data through secondary and primary market research. Create clear, compelling, data-driven recommendations for product and business development. Monitor market trends, industry activities, and St. Jude research to inform strategic decisions and outreach. External and Internal Engagement: Participate in initiating new product development process with St. Jude scientists. Collaborate with TDIE teammates in identifying & engaging potential partners. Interface with external vendors and customers to effectively manage and grow TDIE’s portfolios, while maintaining a customer focus throughout all activities. Assist in planning and executing events to educate and engage internal partners, e.g. departments, inventors. Attend, when appropriate, industry conferences. Technology Strategy Development & Execution: Create go-to-market strategies to help de-risk technologies. Working with TDIE team in development plans to translate technologies to external partners. Manage and update technology category data within department CRM with pertinent information to facilitate technology and business development. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the goals of the department and institution. Comply with institutional policies and procedures that apply to marketing and new technology development activities.
