Job Description: The New Patient Liaison is responsible for performing the intake of new patient referrals from multiple sources for Tennessee Oncology Clinics. New patient intake includes: triaging the severity of diagnosis, scheduling intake with patient, performing new patient intake phone communication, record retrieval, communication with referring physicians, and scheduling first appointment.

  • Adheres to all Tennessee Oncology policies and procedures
  • HS Diploma required
  • Advanced PC skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft products including Word and Excel
  • Able to travel to other clinics when necessary
  • Able to lift 25 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience in healthcare, customer service
  • Prefer experience with EMR

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming new patient calls, enter demographic and insurance pre-registration information
  • maintains contact with new patients via multiple methods (mailing new patient packets, electronic communication / email, callbacks, Requests, collects, documents and assesses all appropriate records to ensure patient has been scheduled properly and all necessary records have been obtained for evaluation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensures referring physicians have received communication regarding the new patient visit
  • C0mmunicate with outside entities to obtain new patient medical history records when appropriate.
  • Communicates with team members, clinic staff and referring Provider offices.
  • Coordinates with Clinic staff to schedule new patient appointments
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned
