New Grad RN Resident - Bone Marrow Transplant Unit
About The Position

Known for its continuous clinical trials and cancer research, the Taussig Cancer Center ensures all patients receive top-quality patient care and have access to the newest advances in cancer treatment. The G110 Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is dedicated to the care of patients undergoing a bone marrow transplant for a diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other cancers. The highly skilled G110 caregivers assist with giving patients high dose chemotherapy followed by autologous, allogeneic, umbilical cord or nonmyeloablative transplant. This unit also provides treatment of graft versus host disease and symptom management for chronic patients.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Responsibilities
- Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
- Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
- Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
- Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
- Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Document in patients' medical records.
