The New Grad RN position is for recent RN graduates or those with less than one year of RN experience. Those hired as a New Grad RN will work under a licensed RN until license can be verified. In conjunction with working on this unit New Grad RNs attend Intermountain’s one-year nurse residency program. The nurse residency program supports New Grad RNs in their transition from classroom to caregiver through webinars, simulations, case studies, and in person meetings. An RN with more than one year of nursing experience is not required to attend the nurse residency program. RNs at Intermountain Healthcare are committed to providing patient centered care while demonstrating our values of Integrity, Trust, Excellence, Accountability, and Mutual Respect. If you are interested in contributing to our mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible- come join our team! On the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit we treat patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, and Aplastic Anemia. We administer Chemotherapy, blood products including PRBC’s, Platelets, and FFP. We also do CAR-T and Cellular Therapy. Our patients are immunocompromised, and we treat infections with multiple antibiotics. Our patients have central lines to accommodate the many infusions they are receiving. We are considered an intermediate care unit with patient ratios on day 3:1 and 4:1 on nights due to the complexity of our patients. It is a great unit to learn on as a new grad and develop your nursing and critical thinking skills. Staff are engaged in mentoring new employees and work well together as a team.
