The New Account Representative will have extensive contact with the public, customers, vendors and is responsible for opening deposit accounts and related banking services, as well as identifying and referring sales opportunities to the appropriate departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • One year banking experience.
  • Thorough understanding of customer service and delivery.
  • Knowledge of Valley Bank products/services to effectively present appropriate solutions to customers.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Work quickly and accurately using various applications and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in opening new accounts while maintaining a knowledge of all bank products in order to make recommendations based on customer needs/requests.
  • Educate the customers to services/products available.
  • Act promptly on customer requests, following through on commitments and obligations. Asking follow-up questions to determine if customer needs and expectations are met.
  • Provides assistance to customers in person and over the phone. Research and resolve customer inquiries while acting as the customer liaison between other departments. Follow up with the customers to ensure that their needs have been met. Develop and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Keep all information related to our customers private and confidential.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, such as, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC, as well as following company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all OnCourse assignments are current and on time.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that service and support the mission and values of Valley Bank.
