About The Position

This is a PRN position that could vary with days, includes weekends, hours of 8a-4p. If the weekend is on call, hours are reflective of the number of STAT EEG orders. The Neurophysiology tech performs standard electroencephalographic, electromyographic, or nerve conduction procedures on patients as ordered by the physician.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• CPR certification

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience OR 2 years of non-patient care healthcare experience
• Obtain registry through ABRET in one area of neurodiagnostics or Registered Polysomnographic Tech by BRPT
• Experience with research and analysis of data
• Experience with editing collateral
• Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Perform patient chart review and patient interview.
• Perform lead placement and review impedance.
• Perform study acquisition of routine, sleep, and portable EEGs, EMG, or NCS.
• Complete documentation of all studies performed, complete monthly reports.
• Communicate with others in the lab, nursing, and physician staff.
• Manage the environment by keeping equipment clean and in working order.
