About The Position

The Neurosurgery Department within the School of Medicine of the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is seeking applicants for a Neurointensivist. Appointment will be at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) with rank determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience. The anticipated primary site of clinical practice will be at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA outside of New Orleans, a medical center of LCMC Health with 419 licensed inpatient beds, outpatient services, as well as the system’s only Comprehensive Stroke Certification Center.

Responsibilities

• Development and expansion of a Neurological Intensive Care
• Providing clinical services
• Supervision of Neurosurgery and Neurology residents
• Shared call
• Participation in medical student education
• Resident selection and evaluation
• Involvement in clinically relevant research and scholarship
