You will be employed by Lyra Clinical Associates P.C. Lyra is committed to addressing urgent and costly mental health needs with specialized support where it’s needed most. Our Center of Excellence for Neurodiversity offers diagnostic evaluations, caregiver training, and tailored support for ADHD, autism, learning differences, and other neurodiversity-related needs. We are looking for a full-time Neurodiversity Navigator who is passionate about whole-person, whole-family mental health care to join our clinical team. This remote position reports to the Supervisor, Neurodiversity Navigation. As a Neurodiversity Navigator, you’ll be doing the important and meaningful work of supporting individuals as they navigate through the complex landscape of care for neurodiversity. You will provide critical psychoeducation on topics like early intervention services, behavioral strategies to address neurodiversity-related needs, navigating a diagnosis, and how to advocate for school, government and workplace accommodation services. Additionally, you will help connect clients to high-quality, evidence-based diagnosticians, services, and providers, depending on their needs. The focus of this role includes (but is not limited to) providing support to caregivers of children/adolescents with suspected or diagnosed neurodiverse conditions, supporting adults seeking neuroaffirming and neurodiversity-informed care, and assisting clients with navigating assessment services and support resources. This position does not involve in-person services or therapy, but rather provides support to individuals and families related to neurodiversity via phone, video conference, and/or email.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree Board Certified Behavior Analyst; BCBA certification and/or independent licensure is required. We’re unable to provide supervised hours toward licensure.
  • Significant experience managing neurodiversity-related clinical situations (preference towards experience providing case management expertise)
  • Experience providing training and/or education regarding behavior and neurodiversity-related topics to caregivers and/or clients
  • Deep understanding of the neurodiversity care navigation landscape at the national, state, and regional levels, for both children and adults
  • Comfort in environments with constantly evolving responsibilities
  • Passion for connecting individuals with excellent client-centered care and ability to provide short-term support via phone, videoconferencing, and email
  • Candidate must be a full-time resident of the United States

Responsibilities

  • Support clients by understanding their current situation, conducting a brief assessment related to needs and potential risk concerns, providing psychoeducation relevant to the client and their needs, creating a client-centered care plan, and connecting the client to treatment or support options and resources.
  • Use an assessment rubric to determine whether neuropsychological testing is indicated for a given Lyra member, based on history, presenting concerns, and other factors. If testing is recommended, you will also help to assess whether a member is appropriate for virtual or in-person neuropsychological testing.
  • Administer psychoeducational training to caregivers of children/teens with neurodiverse conditions in order to help them learn skills to address behavior and neurodiversity-related needs, as well as to improve caregiving strategies.
  • Serve as a neurodiversity subject matter expert—providing guidance on how to best handle situations involving neurodiverse needs, consulting with cross-functional and clinical teams regarding best practices in the context of neurodiversity, and contributing to establishing strong provider partnerships.
  • Independently manage a caseload of complex, multi-need, neurodiverse clients, providing collaborative case management.
  • Successfully facilitate ongoing engagement, supporting clients as they move through various levels of care, employing neuroaffirming strategies to support client readiness for treatment.
  • Manage client crises, providing brief risk and needs assessments, and connecting the client to treatment or crisis resources when needed.
  • Respond to in-the-moment callers seeking crisis support, offering brief, evidence-based coping skills.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with clients and providers throughout the process of accessing care, via modalities such as email, phone, care portal/EHR, and videoconferencing.
  • Creatively troubleshoot roadblocks to offering personalized, high quality clinical care options for our clients.
  • Use Lyra’s proprietary matching software, as well as other methods including facility database, health plan directory, and internet searches to identify treatment options for clients, and connect clients to the evidence-based treatment options, based on each individual client’s specific needs and preferences.
  • During caregiver training, administer and monitor measures to assess overall caregiver strain and stress.
  • Participate in and present cases for discussion in multidisciplinary clinical consultation team meetings, when needed.
  • Coordinate care and communicate with clients’ health plans, billing team, and/or clinical and support teams.
  • Provide feedback to leadership for continuous program improvement, including suggestions to improve client experience, operational efficiencies, or outcomes.
