About The Position

Documents the patency of the peripheral nervous system utilizing evoked potential technology clinically and intraoperatively to support patient monitoring, diagnosis and treatment. Monitors the ongoing electrical signal of the brain utilizing EEG, and evoked potential technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Certificate Graduation from an accredited school of EEG/Neurodiagnostics Technology or a minimum two years of experience in EDX technology
  • Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologists (R. EEG. T.) - American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) Upon Hire or
  • Registration for Evoked Potential Technologists (R. EP. T.) - American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) Upon Hire
  • Less than 1 year Supervised Training

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and records evoked potentials and EEGs and Peripheral Nerve Conduction studies in various environments in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Applies appropriate stimulators and/or sensors to the patient using standard safety precautions.
  • Extracts relevant information from the patient's chart.
  • Calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots appropriate medical and general support equipment.
  • Initiates proper interventions based on interpretation of changes in patient condition.
  • Provides accurate, completed, legible and timely documentation of all patient procedures in the medical record.
  • Maintains timely flow of patients.
  • Maintains exam room for necessary supplies and materials. Performs daily and weekly environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenance. Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment according to policy. Follows correct procedures for handling and disposing of bio-hazardous infectious waste.
  • Provided back-up help for front desk personnel. This may include answering telephone, scheduling and cancelling appointments, and scheduling consult patients.
  • Greets patients and conducts clinical interview collecting history and vital signs.
