About The Position

Provides operational leadership for all neurodiagnostic services throughout Corewell Health West Hospitals; supports strategic program development initiatives across organizational neurodiagnostic departments; and works in matrix and direct line relationship to many components of the organizational system and must work collegially and well with physicians, nursing and medical directors. Neurodiagnostic services include and are not limited to: electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTME), intensive care unit and continuous EEG monitoring (ICU/cEEG), and intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM). Strong, well-developed communication and customer service skills are essential for this position. Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives as well as a high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills. This manager will have oversight over operations at Butterworth Hospital, Multiple medical group spaces and regional oversight. You will have one direct report supervisor, an educator to assist you and two lead techs that oversee daily issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree a related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience Neurodiagnostics in a health care setting or similar field
  • 3 years of relevant experience Supervisory level experience

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for daily clinical operations, project management, program development and implementation, labor management, and overall operational administration for areas of assigned responsibility
  • Creates and maintains a leadership infrastructure to support program operations
  • Identifies key stakeholders and facilitates the development of highly functioning teams
  • Utilizes financial and clinical data to set strategic direction and initiatives
  • Monitors and enhances the neurodiagnostic program effectiveness, efficiency, staff productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Reviews and analyzes neurodiagnostic program statistics
  • Uses results to improve and expand services
  • Oversees the development of long-term relationships with other satellite hospital administrators in the advancement of the neurodiagnostic program
  • Networks and with physicians
  • Is responsible for identifying and capturing as well as enhancing existing new opportunities for revenue and business development
  • Facilitates physicians in organizing and strategic planning, and business development for new practices to commence
  • Works closely and collaboratively with our neurodiagnostic medical staff and senior leadership to plan, develop, and implement departmental and capital budgets utilizing fiscal guidelines
  • Identifies methods to improve operational efficiencies, minimize operating cost, increase standardization, increase productivity, and increase utilization
  • Is accountable for revenue capture and charge compliance activities
  • Assists and/or performs the preparation and implementation of strategic contracts, capital projects, and proformas
  • Analyzes expenses and profitability of services and programs
  • Analyzes and evaluates payer impact on targeted procedures
  • Sets direction and policy to ensure organizational culture and department quality outcomes
  • Is accountable for system design and review
  • Personally participates in use of models for improvement
  • Values, encourages, and listens to suggestions from the department staff
  • Is accountable for key work process design and creation of work culture that results in high reliability
  • Implements and sustains changes in policy and procedures, clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and system initiatives

  • Serves as a catalyst for system improvements within the neurodiagnostic department

  • Collaborates with medical directors and staff to identify department quality initiatives and priorities
  • Supports neurodiagnostic program quality processes and outcomes
  • Ensures active participation and utilization of organization wide performance improvement models for all clinical departments
  • Proactively monitors trends involving risks and reoccurring problems and develops action plans to resolve
  • Develops advanced and cutting edge neuromonitoring procedures in the clinical and critical care settings
  • Develops an environment that supports clinical excellence
  • Develops and maintains clinical standards, which reflect regulatory guidelines and best practices
  • Develops a system to maintain policies and procedures within regulatory guidelines
