Position Summary Responsible for performing EEG procedures Responsible for performing EMG procedures preferred. Principal Accountabilities Standards of Performance: Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality Education High school diploma required Associates degree recommended Licenses and Certification BLS EEG noncertified (Preferred) EMG noncertified (Preferred) Experience and Skills Technical Experience: 1 year EEG experience preferred EMG experience preferred Physical Activities Intermittent hand manipulation required Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds Role Specific Responsibilities Instructs and prepares patients for EEG tests. Performs EEG procedures and processes studies. Provides necessary readings and makes a record of readings for review Maintains EEG equipment and supplies. Performs intraoperative nerve monitoring. Completes documenting and charging responsibilities, report process Provides operating room monitoring and technical support to other technicians in the setting of intraoperative nerve monitoring. Report results to the physician for interpretation in the OR Preferred assisting physician in performing standard and complex Nerve Conduction and EMG procedures. Recognizes clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results.
