Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational or Technical training in Neurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic technology preferred.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Nice To Haves

  • One year technical healthcare experience.
  • Successful completion of an educational program for EEG or Sleep Technologist accredited by the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Records physiological data from the patients having routine, sleep, and special electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures.
  • Records physiological data from in/out patients having Long Term Monitoring(Telemetry). Includes telemetry application of monitoring equipment and reset patients returning for continued monitoring.
  • Performs intraoperative procedures in the operating room as needed.
  • Monitors physiological data from patients having electrocorticography and WADA. Applies electrodes to patients and removes electrodes at the end of surgery.
  • Provides effective first aid for patients for special electrophysiological patients who have convulsions or other problems.
  • Cleans and maintains all equipment and makes minor repairs as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of laboratory and storage of data.
  • Acts as resource for residents, physicians and other technicians, providing assistance and advice as necessary.
