About The Position

This position is for a Neuro Rehab Coach at SSM Health Neuro Transitional Center, a joint venture between Select Medical and SSM Health, located in O'Fallon, MO. The role functions under the direction of rehabilitation therapists and nurses, focusing on helping individuals with brain or spinal cord injuries regain independence and return home. As part of the therapy and nursing team, the Neuro Rehab Coach plays a key role in assisting patients to re-learn daily activities such as walking, talking, dressing, cooking, and managing their own medical needs, emphasizing patient empowerment rather than doing tasks for them. An ideal candidate is passionate about serving and helping others, with previous experience in healthcare as a technician or direct care provider, or is currently pursuing a degree in a related field.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Current State Driver’s License in good standing required
• Certified BLS completion required; for new hires, see CPR Requirement Guidelines for New Hires

Nice To Haves

• Previous Neuro Transitional Rehab experience preferred
• Therapy or Rehab Aide Preferred
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA/STNA) preferred
• LIMA (licensed med aide-insulin certified)

Responsibilities

• Help patients with day to day living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, cooking, washing clothes, make their bed, loading the dishwasher, cleaning their suite, etc.
• Driving patients into the community for medical appointments, community activities
• Assisting the rehabilitation therapists with patient activities
• Assisting patients with nurse delegated tasks after completing the training we provide to ensure your competency. These tasks may include taking vital signs, and peg tube feedings
• Additional tasks as needed
