About The Position

SSM Health Neuro Transitional Center, a joint venture between Select Medical and SSM Health, is seeking a Neuro Rehab Coach (Patient Care Tech, Nursing Assistant, Rehab Patient Support Tech, Therapy Aide, Caregiver) for their O'Fallon, MO location. This full-time night position (7p-7a, 3 days one week, 4 the next, with every other weekend required) offers compensation between $20-$26.93 per hour based on experience, plus a $1.50 night shift differential and a $0.75 weekend differential. This role functions under the direction of rehabilitation therapists and nurses, assisting individuals with brain or spinal cord injuries to regain independence and return home. The Neuro Rehab Coach is an integral part of the therapy and nursing team, playing a key role in helping patients re-learn essential life skills such as walking, talking, dressing, cooking, and managing their medical needs, focusing on empowering patients rather than doing tasks for them. An ideal candidate is passionate about serving and helping others, with previous healthcare experience or currently pursuing a related degree.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Current State Driver’s License in good standing required
• Certified BLS completion required; for new hires, see CPR Requirement Guidelines for New Hires

Nice To Haves

• Previous Neuro Transitional Rehab experience preferred
• Therapy or Rehab Aide Preferred
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA/STNA) preferred
• LIMA (licensed med aide-insulin certified)

Responsibilities

• Help patients with day to day living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, cooking, washing clothes, make their bed, loading the dishwasher, cleaning their suite, etc.
• Driving patients into the community for medical appointments, community activities
• Assisting the rehabilitation therapists with patient activities
• Assisting patients with nurse delegated tasks after completing the training we provide to ensure your competency. These tasks may include taking vital signs, and peg tube feedings
• Additional tasks as needed
