About The Position

As a Network Automation Engineer, you will focus on building and maintaining automation frameworks that support the Network Security organization. This role prioritizes automation engineering while leveraging strong networking fundamentals. The interesting aspect of this role is that it is not a traditional network build-and-operate role. This position is ideal for someone who: Enjoys coding and automation Understands networking fundamentals (CCNA-level) Wants to reduce manual configuration and improve operational scalability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting
  • Working experience with YAML and JSON
  • Experience interacting with devices via APIs and/or automation frameworks
  • Understanding of REST APIs and automation workflows
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • CCNA-level knowledge of:
  • TCP/IP
  • Routing and switching fundamentals
  • VLANs and segmentation
  • Basic firewall concepts
  • DNS/DHCP
  • Ability to troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Netmiko, Nornir, or similar tools
  • Experience automating network security platforms (firewalls, segmentation tools, NAC)
  • Exposure to telecom or service provider environments
  • Understanding of MPLS/BGP (awareness level, not design ownership)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation
  • Exposure to virtualization and containerized environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop network automation solutions using Python
  • Build and maintain structured configuration templates using YAML and JSON
  • Automate network security configuration deployments and validation workflows
  • Convert manual CLI-based processes into scalable, repeatable automation pipelines
  • Integrate automation with routers, switches, firewalls, and related security platforms
  • Develop scripts to support configuration compliance and audit checks
  • Interface with network engineering and security teams to identify automation opportunities
  • Support lab and production environments by troubleshooting both automation workflows and underlying network issues
  • Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives
  • Document automation architecture, workflows, and operational procedures
