Our IT Department is looking for a Network/VoIP Engineer who is responsible for overseeing the network and telephony infrastructure and that uninterrupted services are provided to members & BEC. This position is responsible for compliance requirements as well as developing and implementing programs and tools to drive reliable results. Ensures tasks are performed in accordance with BEC policies and procedures while exercising independent judgment and initiative. Manages projects, stays informed of best practices, and works with the rest of the IT team while promoting BEC's culture, core values, and mission.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of IT principles and practices
  • Strong knowledge of networking and routing protocols
  • Experience with Cisco platform, to include routers, switches, and wireless systems
  • Proficient in the use of IT software and tools, including Security, Virtualization, and Network Management systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Decision-making and judgment skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of IT experience with at least 2 years of hands-on network troubleshooting
  • Experience configuring network equipment from an “out of box” state to fully deployed
  • Experience deploying and managing wireless networks
  • Experience in performing network maintenance and supporting tasks
  • Experience working with cloud-based VoIP systems
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and related insurance
  • Must pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and perform regular network maintenance on equipment such as Cisco, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Maintain current and accurate network diagrams for IT and OT networks
  • Maintain and troubleshoot wireless network system
  • Conduct maintenance and configuration of telephony system, to include call trees, voicemail, and call management systems
  • Oversee network-related tasks such as gate and camera communication, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) communication, etc.
  • Collaborate with and mentor fellow team members on the implementation of new network initiatives and providing training as required
  • Actively pursue job related certifications (i.e. CCNA, Network+)
  • Maintains broad knowledge of current technology, equipment, and/or systems best practices including tactical and strategic technical research (R&D) of emerging infrastructure
  • Assist with help desk and cybersecurity functions as needed
  • Work with IT management regarding purchasing and budget allocation
