The Network Technician assists in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of power, access, transport and core equipment to ensure reliability and quality delivery of telephone, data and cable TV services at the Central Office, headend and remote sites. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to diagnose and correct problems.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and work in confined spaces
  • Able participate in on-call rotation.
  • Must be able to report to office within one hour when on-call if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical/technical computer experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of core, transport, access and headend equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and network problem determination.
  • Monitoring and testing network performance.
  • Equipment installation at Central Office, headend and remote sites.
  • Circuit installation, documentation, testing and maintenance.
  • Maintains Central Office and headend inventory and records.
  • Installs and maintains DC power equipment, including rectifiers, UPS and battery backup systems in Central Office, headend and remote sites.
  • Assists with other work assignments related to group.
