About The Position

The Network Systems Team Manager will be responsible for directing the tactical day-to-day operations and project execution of the network enterprise systems team. This position holds supervisory responsibility for full-time employees. There will be moderate project management required to keep team resources executing at a high-level of productivity to achieve university goals. The Network Systems Team Manager will also be responsible for maintaining network service availability, ticket management, and completing team administrative functions. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience
  • At least five years of Network experience
  • At least two years’ experience managing a team of 6+ network engineers and/or analysts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills – collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation
  • High degree of self-management and able to execute tasks with minimal direction
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and to prioritize assignments

Nice To Haves

  • At least five years of experience in a Network or Network related position
  • At least one year of project management experience
  • Broad knowledge of core networking-related disciplines such as routing and switching, wireless, DNS, network security, and cloud Services
  • Demonstrated experience in network design and troubleshooting complex network environments
  • Knowledge or experience working in a Higher Education environment
  • At least two years of experience managing a ticket queue
