POSITION SUMMARY The Network/Security Administrator 1 position works in collaboration with contractors and senior administrators to provide and assist with technical support to end users and Information Technology staff for network infrastructure and security related issues. With direction from the IT Infrastructure Lead and/or a Network Security Administrator 2 resource, participates in network design, configuration and infrastructure responsibilities. Maintains appropriate network documentation and follows pre-established guidelines, commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures to carry out technical objectives. Performs analysis of security systems and provides troubleshooting support when necessary. Relays any unsafe conditions and/or practices to supervisor(s) as necessary and assists in the development and implementation of information systems policies and procedures as requested. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: Industry recognized information security certification preferred. Network Associate certification is highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience with directed network equipment configuration and administration required At least one year of experience in a medical setting with work related to Network Security preferred Familiarity with industry standard hardware, software, and database systems and a technical foundation in infrastructure configuration, installation, and best practices required Knowledge of technical HIPAA requirements preferred Knowledge and solid understanding of enterprise network design concepts and strategies desirable General understanding of computer/network security practices required Working experience with Network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.), Network/Systems Monitoring systems, Wireless hardware, VoIP solutions, VMware virtualization (vSphere/View), and Linux-based embedded platforms Skills: Must have an ability to prioritize, organize, and manage several functions at once Must have strong troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve complex network, hardware, storage, and software issues Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills Must have keen attention to detail, a strong customer-service orientation, and the ability to work as part of a team A NONPROFIT HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IN EL DORADO COUNTY Marshall is a nonprofit community healthcare provider located in the heart of the Sierra Foothills.
