About The Position
Cargomatic is seeking an experienced Network Optimization Planner with port and drayage operations experience to support our Long Beach market. This role is responsible for balancing freight demand with operational capacity to ensure reliable service and strong asset utilization. You will work closely with Customer Success, Terminal Operations, Capacity Planning, and Equipment teams to maintain a forward-looking market plan that aligns drivers, equipment, and customer demand.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in port, drayage, or intermodal logistics operations
- Strong understanding of container flow, terminal appointments, chassis management, and dispatch operations
- Experience balancing freight demand with operational capacity
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate across operations, customer success, and equipment teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment
- Experience with transportation management systems or logistics software preferred

- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
Responsibilities
- Balance freight demand with driver and equipment capacity across the market planning horizon
- Confirm shipment demand with Customer Success for the next 72-hour planning window
- Coordinate with Terminal Managers to validate driver availability and operational capacity
- Work with Equipment teams to confirm chassis and empty container availability
- Develop and maintain a balanced Market Capacity Plan with Terminal and Capacity teams
- Use automation tools to tender freight to service providers in bundles of productive workdays
- Lead daily Market Planning calls reviewing demand forecasts, capacity, and operational risks
- Partner with Terminal Managers to onboard new customer demand and plan driver and chassis needs
- Ensure efficient deployment of drivers, tractors, chassis, and other market assets
- Identify and escalate risks that could impact service reliability or market capacity
