Job Summary Manage End-of Train (EOT) device asset distribution and produce standardized maintenance instructions drawings that meet or exceed all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, CSX Transportation (CSXT) operating rules, Association of American Railroads (AAR) regulations. Participate in Railroad industry meetings as applicable. Serve as secondary communications interface for internal customers for all field related Communications projects. Assist with the enhancements and support to End-of-Train (EOT), My Engineering Life (MEL), and Master Engineering Asset Database (MEAD) systems. Collaborate with the Network Operations and Back Office Systems Managers and provide comprehensive assistance in managing network and server infrastructure activities for the Next Generation Dispatch (NGD) Internet Protocol (IP) Network as well as the Positive Train Control (PTC) IP Network. Ensure activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Perform other adhoc duties as assigned. Primary Activities and Responsibilities Lead End-of-Train (EOT) distribution and support settlement. Maintain EOT Website and Reporting. Lead field EOT Shops to ensure quality repair and maintenance of EOT devices. Work with Technology business partners to enhance End-of-Train (EOT), My Engineering Life (MEL), and Master Engineering Asset Database (MEAD). Continuously monitor the performance of the networks to determine if changes are necessary and to identify specific areas where future enhancements or maintenance should be implemented. Additionally, provide comprehensive support to guarantee that all workstations, servers, and other network-connected devices maintain reliable and proper connectivity throughout the system. Maintain records concerning both network performance, maintenance, and repairs. Interact with users of the network to produce a roadmap to fix the existing problems of the systems. Aide in the network analysis, modeling, planning, and proper coordination between hardware and software of network and data communications. Provide mentoring and guidance to C&S Project and Network Operations Center (NOC) employees. Provide technical assistance and technical training to staff. Analyze the scope of a project to determine what hardware and software is necessary, what type of data is to be used, how the information is to be shared across a network and how the network will ultimately be configured. Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
