About The Position

Network Engineer designs, implements, secures, and maintains complex network infrastructure, often leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and troubleshooting critical issues. They ensure stability, security, and scalability of our network and systems environment. They serve as backup for other members of the infrastructure team including end-user support and help desk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in network engineering or a similar role
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, AD, Azure) and in VMware virtualization
  • Highly skilled in network hardware and software configuration
  • Network and endpoint security best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication, reliability, and follow-up skills
  • Mustresidewithin a short drive of Waukesha, WI
  • Ability to travel occasionally to various locations for training and support; may require after-hours and weekend support

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, andmaintainnetwork infrastructure, including hardware and software components
  • Assistwith internal growth planning, including development of and maintenance of evolving network architectural diagrams
  • Evaluate network infrastructures for performance, risks, service availability, and disaster contingency planning
  • Manage andoptimizeMicrosoft ecosystem solutions, including 365, Active Directory (AD), and Azure cloud services
  • Manage VMware environments, as well as hands-on administration of Cisco routers, switches,and firewalls
  • Lead cloud migration projects and oversee Azure management for scalability and security
  • Ensure robust network security and endpoint protection across all systems
  • Administer document management control systems and enforce compliance standards
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for systems-related issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and focus on critical initiatives
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed to ensure continues uptime for the manufacturing operations
  • Travel occasionally to the Chicago area to provide coverage for other team members
  • Ensure systems and processes adhere to internal IT policies and security standards
  • Conduct behavior in compliance with Lifeway Employee Policy
  • Performadditionalduties as assigned
