About The Position

Kforce has a client in Orlando, FL that is seeking a Network Engineer responsible for participating in the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure systems with an emphasis on secure connectivity and physical security integration. This role ensures operational excellence across networking, cloud services, and controlled access technologies.

Requirements

  • College level education (AA/AS/BA/BS+) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience installing, configuring, and supporting all of the following: Cisco switches and routers, Cisco VoIP, remote user networking, VPN, TCP/IP troubleshooting, Cisco ASA firewalls, VLAN, MPLS, advanced routing, QoS, wireless LAN

  • Cisco and other industry certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of SolarWinds or other monitoring software and response to alerts
  • Receive new networking equipment, configure from pre-defined templates, and ship to remote sites
  • Responsible for diagnostics and resolution of network problems to minimize downtime of business applications and services
  • Receive escalated calls from users and technicians to resolve minor, major, and escalate issues to senior engineers and vendors for network software and hardware problems
  • Ensure the network and communications infrastructure is maintained within the agreed policy, and network device configurations are backed up routinely to minimize downtime risk for the business
  • Configure, install and maintain various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, VPN, load balancers, firewalls, Cisco Call Manager)
  • Install and maintain all network infrastructure utilizing government and industry security best practices
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise network systems including SD-WAN, firewalls, wireless, and access switches
  • Ensure high availability and performance across datacenter and cloud environments (Azure-first architecture)
  • Implement and manage controlled access systems, including badge-based entry and role-based permissions
  • Oversee CCTV deployment and monitoring solutions, ensuring compliance with security standards and integration with IT systems
  • Maintain audit trails for access events and video surveillance for compliance and incident response
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards for data and facility security
