About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network architecture for shipboard C5ISR systems, ensuring robust and secure communication networks in new ship construction. Requirements

  • Bachelor in Science in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related field; OR additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Five (5) years of Network Engineering experience and extensive knowledge C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR shipboard systems and architecture
  • See below for C3-C6 ISR systems applicable to this program
  • Demonstrates familiarity and understanding of all subject areas in Certification and Accreditation (C&A)
  • Proficiency in network architecture design and implementation
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
  • Ability to conduct network performance analysis and optimization
  • Knowledge of and experience with evaluating networking functional requirements
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Experience supporting projects in a Shipyard environment
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Cybersecurity Workforce Level II cert i.e. Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP & a Vendor operating system certification: i.e. Microsoft, Cisco, RedHat, or Linux
  • Or must be willing to obtain/pass certifications within 180 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network architecture for shipboard C5ISR systems
  • Ensure secure and reliable shipboard communication networks design
  • Coordinate with customer for network requirements
  • Conduct network performance analysis and optimization
  • Support the development and review of network-related documentation and design reviews
