About The Position

The Network Engineer supports the design, deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of mission-critical systems across the telecommunications environment. This role blends systems and network engineering responsibilities, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of network, compute, and data platforms. The position leverages industry-leading tools such as NetBox Labs, Zabbix, VMware, Nutanix, Kentik, HubSpot, Linux, and data analytics platforms to provide deep operational visibility, traffic intelligence, and data-driven decision support. The Systems Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement new services, automate workflows, analyze large-scale datasets, and maintain high levels of observability across complex, distributed environments

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Data Systems, or a related field; OR equivalent experience totaling five or more years in a telecommunications systems, network, or infrastructure engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, administering, and integrating tools such as NetBox Labs, Zabbix, VMware, Nutanix, Kentik, HubSpot, Linux systems, and network platforms.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications and network engineering principles including IP networking, routing, switching, traffic engineering, and service provisioning workflows.
  • Experience with network traffic analysis, flow and performance analytics.
  • Experience working with large datasets, dashboards, and analytical tools for operational or network data analysis.
  • Proficiency with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) and automation/configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, data pipelines, and systems integration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills across systems, networks, and data layers.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record may be required depending on role responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead OSS/BSS platform ideation, implementation and integration efforts, including data modeling, API integrations, workflow automation, and synchronization with network inventory, monitoring, and analytics systems.
  • Design, implement, integrate, and maintain systems and networks supporting telecommunications operations—including compute, storage, routing, switching, monitoring, documentation, and automation platforms.
  • Support network engineering functions including IP addressing, routing and switching design, VLANs, BGP/OSPF configuration support, and network performance optimization.
  • Lead the consolidation, data migration and administration of NetBox Labs as the authoritative source-of-truth for network and infrastructure inventory, IPAM, DCIM, and automation workflows.
  • Optimize, maintain, and tune Zabbix monitoring environments to ensure end-to-end visibility across network, server, application, and service layers.
  • Support, manage, and troubleshoot virtualization platforms such as VMware and Nutanix, including cluster operations, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Leverage Kentik and related telemetry platforms for network traffic analysis, flow analytics, capacity forecasting, anomaly detection, and troubleshooting.
  • Support and enhance operational tooling, CRM, and business system integrations using platforms such as HubSpot, APIs, webhooks, and automation frameworks.
  • Perform advanced system administration on Linux servers, including hardening, scripting, service configuration, and patch management.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, data models, runbooks, and standards to ensure consistent, repeatable operations.
  • Support and participate in root cause analysis for system and network incidents and develop preventive solutions to improve reliability and resilience.
  • Collaborate with engineering, NOC, data, field operations, and leadership teams to support new service launches, capacity expansions, and major system upgrades.
  • Contribute to system and network architecture roadmaps, vendor evaluations, and technology selection initiatives.
  • Ensure security and compliance best practices are upheld across systems and networks, including access controls, segmentation, logging, and continuous monitoring.
