Peraton is seeking a driven Network Engineer to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team of network and UC engineers in Washington, DC. Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions. In this role, you will provide Tier II Escalated support for in-depth troubleshooting, advanced problem resolution, remote diagnostics and systems analysis, and escalate unresolved issues to Tier III engineers. The Network Engineer is responsible for but not limited to: Evaluate LAN/WAN performance and capacities to identify problem areas or bottlenecks. Perform a variety of network management services related to the operation, performance, or availability of data communications networks. Responsibility for overall performance and availability of networks Provide LAN/WAN support with skill in network analysis, integration, and tuning. Analyze client LANs/WANs, isolate source of problems recommends reconfiguration and implementation of new network hardware to increase performance. Implement networking technologies and concepts (such as Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols).
