About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team supporting critical infrastructure and mission systems for the Defense Health Agency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network solutions. Responsible for documentation, configurations and scripts for enterprise deployment of solutions that align with business strategies, contributing to the transition of new technologies between Architecture and Engineering, confirming all appropriate documents & processes are developed. What You Will Do: Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing information networks such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks in accordance to the organization’s business requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of networks. Coordinate changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades or version increments to existing networks with network administrators and stakeholders. Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard new and existing networks. Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning. Coordinates with architecture and evaluate new and emerging network technologies and make recommendations for selection of these products. Assists network administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assists in troubleshooting efforts. May provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed networks in lab or production environments. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. May supervise others.

Requirements

  • Must have one of the following IAT II Certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GIC SP, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business or another related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of SIX (6) years of Network Engineering experience
  • Must be US Citizen able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
  • Ability to work with other senior technical and user staff to complete projects
  • Demonstrates abilities and success with identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of firm services; preparing concise, accurate documents
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment
  • Possess an acute awareness of organizational cultures and political savvy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the DoD, Military Health System, Government contracting
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Business or another related field from an accredited college or university
