We are currently seeking candidates to join our successful Federal organization as a Network Engineer for an enterprise cybersecurity opportunity supporting our DHS CDM DEFEND program. The position involves troubleshooting network and AWS cloud issues to keep our clients operational. Candidates will design and configure build plans and create automated solutions that can be framed worked and re-used within the program as needed. This position is located in one of CGI Federal's offices in Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.

  • Manage and administer Palo Alto firewalls, including policy updates and threat management.
  • Configure and maintain Site-to-Site IPSec VPNs for secure inter-site connectivity.
  • Collaborate with hosting teams managing load balancers.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance using standard tools and methodologies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, topologies, and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to network integration, solution design, and scalable infrastructure enhancements.
  • Oversee IPAM and DNS, and optimize load-balancing solutions, particularly F5.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux technologies.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and secure working practices.
  • Adaptability to work within a changing environment.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Update documentation such as standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a positive attitude and team focus.
  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience in enterprise network engineering and support.
  • Proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls, Site-to-Site VPNs, and LAN/WAN architectures.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
  • Experience troubleshooting network traffic flow in AWS infrastructure.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible) for network management.

  • Experience in designing and implementing network security measures, including intrusion detection/prevention systems.
