About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Space Force Range contract. Essential Functions Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network Ensure adequate operational spares, supplies and consumables are on hand to support Operation and Maintenance (O&M) tasks and objectives Oversee the setup and operation of mission equipment to ensure all requirements are satisfied according to mission documentation Provide day-to-day support of the Mission Enterprise Network Monitor network performance and integrity Troubleshoot network connectivity between layers 1-4 Suggest and implement improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability Remediate network vulnerabilities Perform scheduled and emergency network maintenance Participate in planning, design, hardware procurement, implementation, and support for the Enterprise network. Continually assess system capability with regard to emerging customer requirements and develop Requirement Statements when necessary to ensure future mission success Provide technical support for engineering project development, design, and integration Act as technical lead, mentoring team members on technical issues and on special projects Implement and test STIGs to ensure compliance with organizational security and industry best practices. Communicate with users when needed Maintain complete technical documentation Create additional O&M documentation, including Training documentation, required to support the Enterprise Network Collaborate with systems, security, and application teams to resolve cross-functional issues. Follow all Change Management procedures Provide innovative process improvements ensuring contract compliance and fulfillment while devising and implementing process improvement methods derived from internal and external integrated process team actions Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field
  • 5+ years of overall Information Technology Network Enterprise Transport experience
  • Working Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP
  • Knowledge of the OSI layers and their functions.
  • Proven experience in LAN/WAN environments, installing and troubleshooting circuit problems (MPLS, OCxx, T1, DS3) and traffic shaping/QoS
  • Proven experience using network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds)
  • Expert/In-Depth knowledge and experience of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, HP)
  • Expert/In-Depth knowledge and experience in Layer 3 routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, etc)
  • Expert/In-Depth knowledge and experience in Layer 2 technologies (Spanning Tree, VTP, 802.1Q, Dynamic/Private Vlans, Etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
  • Proven IP networking and security experience within the DoD environment, preferred
  • Must have current 8140 IAT certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND or Security+), or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Occasional stateside travel may be required
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Responsibilities
