About The Position

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across large-scale environments for a client in the Columbia, MD area. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule (2 days per week onsite).

Requirements

5+ years of experience managing and supporting large enterprise network environments.
Advanced knowledge of IP routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) and TCP/IP networking.
Hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and technologies.
Strong understanding of network security principles and tools.
Experience with SD-WAN and VPN technologies.

Nice To Haves

Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE) are a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, plan, and implement LAN and WAN solutions for enterprise environments.
Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches (6500/4500/Nexus 2K, 5K, 7K, 9K), and Meraki wireless systems.
Manage enterprise-level WAN and Internet circuits, including inter-data center connectivity.
Implement and support network security technologies (Cisco Sourcefire IDPS, FTD; Zscaler; Cisco ISE; Palo Alto NGFWs; Palo Alto GPVPN; Cisco ACI; SilverPeak SD-WAN).
Configure and maintain Site-to-Site VPNs.
Perform network performance analysis using packet capture tools (Wireshark and similar).
Utilize SolarWinds for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
