About The Position

We are seeking a Network Engineer that will assist in the development, installation and maintenance of data and voice network communications. Utilizes knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates data and voice network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Implements, maintains and audits network-based security safeguards. Maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Assists in developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan. Selects and recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment. Provides technical support and guidance to end users as needed. Provides mentoring and technical assistance with junior members of the team including Help Desk personnel.

Requirements

  • Cisco DMVPN, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, Firewalls, IPv4, IPv6, IPSec, Meraki, Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Splunk, TrendMicro, SNMP, Solarwinds, Voice and Data Network technologies, Wireless Network Technologies, Zscaler, Amazon AWS, Azure, HP/Aruba Clear
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or 3-5 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Certified in Cisco (CCNA minimum)

Responsibilities

  • Designs, configures and installs project and regional office wired and wireless networks in coordination with the project setup coordinator.
  • In some instances, travel is required (within the US) to the project sites to perform or manage the project network setup.
  • Recommends network and voice communications hardware and software standards.
  • Selects, purchases, configures and installs data network hardware.
  • Performs regular maintenance and upgrades to maintain prescribed SLAs.
  • Establishes and maintains project schedules relating to network technology deployments.
  • Develops and maintains network security practices and prescribes security monitoring procedures.
  • Installs and configures IP voice communications hardware/software.
  • Participates in bi-monthly off-hour scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Alternates weekly on-call responsibility to provide after hours coverage for critical outage issues.
