  • FIELD OF STUDY: Management of Information Systems Computer Science Electrical Engineering
  • 4-8 years of hands-on experience in configuring & troubleshooting complex enterprise networks.
  • Working Knowledge of the following:
  • Cisco Router Platforms
  • Cisco Catalyst Switch Platforms
  • Cisco Wireless Access Points
  • Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance / FirePower

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Administration (60%) Administer enterprise Layer3 routing environment Cisco routers including data center & regional office class devices. Protocols including but not limited to BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
  • Administer enterprise Layer2 switching environment Cisco data center core switching, distribution layer switching, & wireless infrastructure. Protocols including but not limited to 802.1q trunking, 802.3af PoE, STP, CDP, LACP, ARP, HSRP
  • Manage enterprise WAN environment MPLS backbone, SIP trunks, Point to Point, & dedicated Internet circuits
  • Monitor utilization & downtime using network tools such as internal & external network performance monitoring systems, Netflow traffic analyzation system and enterprise network mapping system.
  • Configure new WAN & internet circuits as needed
  • Work with service providers on circuit details, hand-off, demarc extensions, etc.
  • Deploy and configure BGP routing using Cisco best practice standards.
  • Administer enterprise wireless environment Meraki dashboard, environmental sensors, & wireless access points
  • Administer enterprise security environment Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances / FirePower
  • Configure & troubleshoot Site-to-Site VPN tunnels Cisco Anyconnect remote access VPN
  • Collaborate with Information Security Team to ensure network design compliance
  • Document standards for new deployments and oversee future network rollouts and migrations.
  • Work closely with IT Security and Data Center Operations to maintain security, resiliency, redundancy, and replication of production systems across data centers.
  • Prepare and maintain updated documentation including network diagrams, standardized procedures, and baseline configurations for all network-related systems and environments.
  • Collaborate with Unified Communications Engineers in design & management of optimal efficiency of voice & video communications Layer 2, Layer 3, DHCP, QoS, etc Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Presence, Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), & Cisco Telepresence
  • Administer IP address schema throughout the enterprise and administer Device42 IPAM solution.
  • Follow strict change management by consistently submitting detailed change logs in a timely fashion and adhering to SCP Health change control mandates and policies.
  • Administer data integrity as it relates security patches, hardware monitoring, etc
  • Deploy software upgrades as needed to devices and servers.
  • Strive for and adhere to industry standard 99.999% uptime of network connectivity servicing systems designated mission critical.
  • Special Projects (20%) Collaborate with Network Architect to consult for all aspects of network infrastructure hardware, circuits, & network security.
  • Work with other departments to provide high availability for critical systems and streamline access for high-profile applications.
  • Constantly evaluate security posture from both Internet and Intranet viewpoints.
  • Deploy updated security patches to all devices and regularly vet all perimeter access configurations.
